Cootac Load Bearing Vest (LBV) Expander Kit

The Load Bearing Vest (LBV) Expander Kit is a versatile and modular addition to the 34A Split Rig Chest Rig Chassis, designed to enhance its functionality and adaptability for various operational needs. 

Key Features:

1. Roll Top Butt Pack:

   • The main compartment is expandable, allowing it to carry larger items.

   • Constructed with a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish for water resistance, though it is not fully waterproof. For full waterproofing, Spiritus recommends using a dry bag liner.

   • Includes a zippered front pocket with tie-down loops for securing sensitive or smaller items.
     
     

2. Padded X Harness System:

   • Replaces the standard Back Strap and Fat Straps of the 34A Chest Rig.

   • Provides improved weight distribution and comfort for extended wear during sustainment operations or longer patrols.
     
     

3. Sternum Strap:

   • Enhances stability and load management by securing the vest closer to the body.
     
     

4. MOLLE Compatibility:

   • The LBV Expander Kit is equipped with a MOLLE attachment system, allowing for further customization and attachment of additional pouches or accessories.

   • The side buckle straps can be stowed behind the MOLLE using integrated vertical slit openings when not in use.
     
     

5. Modularity:

   • The harness and side straps are removable, enabling the Butt Pack to be used as a standalone module on other platforms.

   • Operators can quickly switch between a front-only chest rig configuration (ideal for vehicle use) and a full-featured LBV by attaching or detaching the Expander Kit.
